Chandni Chowk to LA

Giant Robot recently sent me and Martin W. to check out the screening, take some pix and interview the director and stars of new Bollywood pic Chandni Chowk to China.  Martin having a much better vocab of Bollywood pics than me.  Gave me a little Bollywood 101 before the screening.  This is what I learned so far, Bollywood pics are long, kinda corny, and have large dance numbers with awesome Indian music!  I guess this is the first Bollywood pic to combine Bolly style movie with Kung Fu.  Not sure how American audiences will embrace the movie, but it definitely makes me want to see more of these style films.  Apparently the director has a 3 picture deal with Warner Bros. , so I guess we'll be seeing at least 2 more by director Nikhil Advani.

Chandni Chowk main star Akshay Kumar checking out a recent issue of GR.  Akshay was really cool and I guess the story is sort of autobiographical to his own life story, minus the crazy kung fu high jinx.
